Service Starting Monday, March 28

Winter quarter service levels continue into spring quarter! The outbound D line will be detoured starting on March 28 due to Hutchison Drive/Highway 113 overpass construction. Expect delays. No changes to inbound D line service. Starting Monday, April 4, Unitrans will operate the L line every 60 minutes on the same schedule as Yolobus operated. Yolobus will continue to operate the A line through June 9.

 

Weekday Frequency by Line:

- 30-minute: A (operated by Yolobus), B, C, D, G, J, K, M, P, Q, V-EX, V-LT, and W

- 60-minute: E, F, L (Operated by Unitrans starting 4/4), Z

 

D Line Detour

Outbound D line service is detoured effective Monday, March 28 to operate via La Rue Road Northbound and Russell Boulevard due to Hutchison Drive/Highway 113 construction. The detour is expected to cause delays all spring quarter. The D line will not serve Hutchison/Extension Center Drive (#239) or Hutchison/Health Sciences Drive (#361) during the detour. The ARC outbound stop (#175) will be served as an alternative. No changes to inbound service. Click here for map!

 

West Village V-EX & V-LT Service Continues

- V-EX West Village Express and V-LT West Village Limited pilot program continues on weekdays from 6:55 AM to 8:10 PM. V-EX will serve the Silo Terminal, stops on Hutchison Drive, and only one West Village bus stop at 2080 Tilia/The Green. The V-LT will serve the Silo Terminal, stops on Hutchison Drive, and all other bus stops in West Village. For more information on this pilot program, click here!

V Express And V Limited Pilot Program

Starting Monday, January 31, Unitrans is increasing weekday service to West Village and introducing two new V line services – the V-EX (V West Village Express) and V-LT (V West Village Limited). The V-EX and V-LT will operate twice an hour on weekdays between 6:55 AM and 8:10 PM. The new services are expected to make your ride faster and more comfortable during the most crowded times. The regular V line serving all bus stops will operate after 8:10 PM and on weekends. Click here for service flyer!

 

V-EX West Village Express: The V-EX will depart the Silo Terminal and only serve one bus stop in West Village - 2080 Tilia/The Green (Stop #305). No other bus stops will be served in West Village. 2080 Tilia is the last outbound stop/first inbound stop on the V line, just after the turnaround loop, and is the primary stop for The Green residents. The V-EX will serve the Silo Terminal, Hutchison at Extension Center Drive (Stop #239), Hutchison at Health Sciences Drive (Stop #361 and #240) in both directions, and 2080 Tilia (Stop #305).

 

2080 Tilia (Stop #305) is the primary stop for “The Green” addresses 298 Citron, 301 Citron, 184 Horizon, 298 Horizon, 2231 Jade, 187 Mint, 2079 Tilia and “Sol” addresses: 2035 Tilia, 2040 Tilia, 2145 Tilia, 2075 Tilia, 2080 Tilia, 2120 Tilia, 2150 Tilia.

 

V-LT West Village Limited: The V-LT will depart the Silo Terminal and serve all West Village bus stops EXCEPT 2080 Tilia. The last stop will be Tilia at Celadon (Stop #304). The outbound V-LT will stop at Hutchison/Extension Center Drive (Stop #239), Hutchison/Health Sciences Drive (Stop #361), Hutchison Dr/Sage (Stop #286), Jade/Sage (Stop #288), and Tilia/Celadon (Stop #304). Inbound service will serve all bus stops except 2080 Tilia (Stop #305).

 

These stops serve most Sol buildings and all The Ramble buildings.

V Line Stop Closures on Saturday, January 22

Due to construction on campus, the V line on Saturday, January 22 will not serve inbound bus stops on La Rue at the ARC and on Hutchison Drive at Health Sciences Drive. Outbound stops will remain open.

Unitrans Service Adjustments - January 2022 - UPDATED 1/6/22

UPDATE 1/6/22: Based on staffing challenges and remote UC Davis instruction, from Friday, January 7 through Friday, January 28, Unitrans will operate on a break schedule. Please check back frequently for service updates.

 

"Break" Schedule Summary (Weekdays from Friday, January 7 - Friday, January 28):

Service to/from the MU Terminal only including the Yolobus operated A & L lines

Service every 30 minutes on the A-MU, G, P, Q, and V-MU lines

Service every 60 minutes on the B, E, F, L-MU, and Z lines

Z line will depart the MU terminal every 60 minutes at the "top of the hour" (7:00, 8:00, 9:05, etc) 

No changes to regular scheduled weekend service.

Free Farmer's Market Shuttle - Saturday, August 7!

Saturday, August 7 from 9:00am to 12:40pm, hop on board the free double decker Farmer's Market Shuttle. Shuttle provides service from downtown to the UC Davis Memorial Union every 20 minutes. Pick up location at the Farmer's Market is 3rd/C Streets.

E Line Reroute and Other Changes!

In order to improve service reliability, service changes will take effect on Monday, August 2, 2021 as described below. For more information, click on our special service change webpage! For new schedules, click on Routes, choose your line, and set the "Term" to Summer Session 2.

 

- The E line will operate on Fifth Street between UC Davis & F Street. For downtown, use the bus stops on Fifth Street at D Street. You can also use the A, Z, and O lines for service on Second Street, the L line for service on B Street, and the M line for service on First Street and B Street.

- The Z line morning schedule will operate five minutes later than the pre-August 2, 2021 schedule.

- Minor schedule adjustments are made to the F, L, M, P, Q, and W lines.

 

As a reminder, through September 21, 2021, the following summer adjustments are still in place:

- K & M lines will continue to operate every 30 minutes on weekdays between 7am and 8pm

- The D & W lines will be suspended through September 21, 2021

- Continued reminder that the A & L lines will operate to/from the Memorial Union Bus Terminal until September 21, 2021 due to construction

Youth 18 and Under Ride FREE Starting August 2! T Line Starts on August 25!

Thanks to special funding through the State of California's Low Carbon Transit Operations Program, youth 18 and under can ride Unitrans fare-free starting August 2!  To ride free, just show the driver or conductor your valid school identification card (2020-21 and 2021-22 school years only). Only if your child does not have a school ID, you can fill out the free youth pass application and send to Unitrans at unitrans@ucdavis.edu to request a free youth pass. Note: these passes expire in summer each year, student IDs are preferred for bus access.

 

The Davis Joint Unified School District school bell time focused T line service re-starts on August 25! Go to the T line page for schedule or click here for a 2-page flyer in English or Spanish.

 

The UC Davis Downtown Store will also sell Unitrans bus passes starting August 2! With the addition of the Downtown Store, passes are now available online at unitrans.ucdavis.edu/fares, at the UC Davis Campus Store, and UC Davis Downtown Store.

Unitrans Program of Projects - Federal 5307, ARP, & CARES Act Funding

On an annual basis, the City of Davis/Unitrans prepares a Program of Projects (POP) that forms the basis for grant applications submitted to FTA for annual transit funding allocated to the City by FTA. In response to the impact of COVID-19 on transit operators throughout the nation, the federal government through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act appropriated $10,308,599 and $830,050 through the American Rescue Plan (ARP) to the City of Davis to support transit operations and help backfill local and state revenue losses to prevent significant transit service reductions and impacts.

 

The proposed program of projects allocates remaining CARES Act, ARP, and FY2020-2021 Federal 5307 funding to support transit service in the City of Davis through FY2023-2024 and provide local budgetary relief. Additional funding is provided to the Yolo County Transportation District (Yolobus) for the provision of local transit service in Davis for FY2021-2022.

 

FTA regulatory guidance requires the City and Unitrans to make the proposed POP available for public review and comment prior to its approval by the City Council.  The proposed POP is published in the Davis Enterprise as of Friday, July 23 and on the Unitrans web site (unitrans.ucdavis.edu) on July 21, 2020, with information on how to ask questions and comment on the proposed POP.   The review and comment period will remain open through August 5, 2021. A public hearing on the proposed POP will be held via Zoom at the Unitrans Advisory Committee (UAC) meeting on Thursday, August 5 at 4:00 PM. Meeting information will be posted on the UAC page of the City's website at least 72 hours before the meeting If approved, the Committee’s recommendation and all comments received through the public review period, will be forwarded to the Davis City Council for its Tuesday, August 31, 2021 meeting.
